HISTORY

Işıklar Packaging entered the Kraft sack business in 1969 by establishing a greenfield sack factory with a capacity of 70 mio sacks per annum.

1982 saw the creation of a 2nd sack factory with 160 mio sack capacity. Işıklar Packaging continues to operate in Turkey at her Çumra factory with a capacity of 300 mio sacks per annum with W&H lines.

Işıklar Packaging established a greenfield sack factory in Arbil,Northern Iraq to servet he entire Iraqi market for cement sacks with plans to triple this capacity in the near future.

Işıklar Packaging invested in a 6 colour press in 1994 and recently in 2008 has invested in a state of the art W&H 8+1 colour plus UV Varnish printing press.

Our efforts to get Food Contact Packaging production certification in 1999 has evolved into an investment of an entirely hygienic, clean and legally compliant production line for food packaging production.

Furthermore, with its pioneering role in the industry, Işıklar Ambalaj introduced eco-friendly features to its production lines in 2023, including the manufacturing of e-commerce packaging, gift envelopes and shopping bags.

These innovative products have been introduced to the global market simultaneously with Türkiye.

Işıklar Ambalaj holds various quality system certifications, including ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System, as well as industryspecific ADR/UN, Halal, Kosher, and FSC certifications.

Committed to its principles of management, environmental awareness and an annual production capacity of 300 million kraft bags, 75 million e-commerce/gift envelopes, and shopping bags, Işıklar Ambalaj continuously aims to innovate and develop within the packaging industry.

Işıklar Ambalaj has invested in a Solar Power Plant in her factory premises to produce own electricity needs in an important step to erase her carbon foot print.

Investments that started in 2024 and are ongoing include the renewal of the 4th paper bag production line with a next-generation line, the purchase and installation of one SOS-type bag production line, and the purchase and installation of a 10-color roll-to-roll printing machine, all of which have been completed. The procurement process for one additional SOS-type bag production line is still ongoing.
